Terms of Service

1. The Service

YourStatementConverter is an AI-powered web application that converts PDF bank statements into structured Excel and CSV files with reconciliation verification. The Service is provided on an "as-is" basis except for the express guarantee in Section 7. Use of the Service does not establish a CPA-client, attorney-client, or fiduciary relationship; the Service is software, not professional accounting advice.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts. By creating an account you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it current. You are responsible for the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@yourstatementconverter.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

If you are using the Service to process bank statements that belong to a third party (for example, your bookkeeping or accounting clients), you represent that you have the authority and consent of that third party to upload their statements to the Service.

3. Subscription plans and billing

3.1 Plans

Current plan details are also published at yourstatementconverter.com and may change with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

3.2 Quota consumption order

Each page you convert is consumed from your account as follows: (1) your current month's plan quota is drawn down first; (2) once monthly quota is exhausted, your top-up balance is drawn down. Unused monthly quota does not roll over; unused top-up balance does roll over for the life of the subscription.

3.3 Launch promotion (LAUNCH50)

During our launch period, new Solo and Practice subscribers receive a one-time 50% discount on their first invoice via the LAUNCH50 coupon. The discount applies once, only to the first month, and is not available to customers who already have an active Stripe subscription with us. The launch period and the coupon's availability may end at any time without notice.

3.4 Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By providing payment information you authorize us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method for fees due. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. We do not store or have access to your full payment card data.

3.5 Refunds

• Subscriptions: Non-refundable for the current billing period. Cancel anytime; access continues to the end of the paid period.
• One-time purchases (Catch-up Project, Page Top-up): Refundable within 14 days if completely unused. Once any portion of the credit has been used, the purchase is non-refundable.
• Our Guarantee remedies: See Section 7.

3.6 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing dashboard or by emailing hello@yourstatementconverter.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.

4. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

1. Upload documents you do not own or do not have authorization to process;
2. Upload documents that contain malware or are designed to disrupt the Service;
3. Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service;
4. Use the Service to violate any law, regulation, or third-party right;
5. Resell, sublicense, or distribute access to the Service without our written consent;
6. Use the Service to process documents on behalf of clients without those clients' knowledge and consent;
7. Scrape, harvest, or use automated tools to bulk-extract data from the Service beyond normal account usage;
8. Exceed the page quotas of your subscription plan, free credit, or top-up balance through technical workaround;
9. Create multiple accounts in an attempt to abuse the free signup credit or any promotional offer.

Violation may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, with or without refund, at our discretion.

5. Your data and content

You retain all ownership rights in the documents and data you upload. By uploading content to the Service, you grant Chowdhury Labs LLC a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and return that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not use your uploaded content to train AI models. Detailed handling, retention, and your rights are described in our Data Security & Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, brand, logos, prompts, written content, and underlying technology (other than user-uploaded content) — is owned by Chowdhury Labs LLC and protected by U.S. copyright, trademark, trade-secret, and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted.

7. Our guarantee — no questions asked

A "material extraction error" means: a transaction in the returned Excel/CSV is missing entirely, has the wrong dollar amount, the wrong date, or the wrong debit/credit direction — AND our reconciliation summary returned "Reconciled" rather than "Discrepancy Found."

7.1 Remedies

• Subscribers (Solo / Practice): One additional month of your current subscription tier credited to your next billing cycle. The month in which the error occurred is effectively free.
• Catch-up Project customers: A free re-run of the conversion using our highest-accuracy escalation model, at no additional charge.

The remedy is granted without an adjudication process. We will not require you to prove negligence, demand evidence beyond the original document and the resulting output, or argue about whether you should have caught the issue yourself. The phrase "no questions asked" reflects that intent.

7.2 How to claim

1. Email hello@yourstatementconverter.com within 30 days of the conversion;
2. Attach (or describe) the original PDF, the generated Excel/CSV, and a one-line summary of the specific error;
3. We will apply the credit or schedule the re-run within 5 business days.

7.3 Exclusions

The guarantee does not apply to:

• Conversions our system already flagged "Discrepancy Found" (the warning satisfied our obligation — you were on notice before delivery);
• Statements that violate the Acceptable Use policy;
• Statements where the underlying PDF is corrupted, illegible, password-protected and not unlockable, or otherwise non-standard in ways no reasonable extraction system could parse (handwritten edits, partial scans, etc.);
• Errors introduced by your manual edits to the output after delivery.

This guarantee is offered in lieu of cash refunds for accuracy issues. A free month or free re-run is the exclusive remedy under Section 7.

8. Service availability

We target high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted Service. We may perform maintenance with reasonable advance notice when practical. We are not liable for downtime caused by upstream third-party services (Stripe, Anthropic, our hosting provider, our domain registrar, etc.) where the disruption is outside our reasonable control.

9. Disclaimers

YourStatementConverter is a software tool, not a licensed accounting or tax-advisory service. The output of the Service does not constitute professional accounting, tax, or legal advice. You remain responsible for verifying conversions, performing reconciliations, and meeting any regulatory or professional obligation that applies to your work.

10. Limitation of liability

The limitations in this Section 10 do not apply to: (i) liability arising from our gross negligence or intentional misconduct; (ii) our indemnification obligations under Section 11; or (iii) any liability that cannot be limited by applicable law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Chowdhury Labs LLC and its members, officers, employees, and agents from and against any third-party claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (i) your violation of these Terms; (ii) your violation of any applicable law; (iii) your violation of any third-party right (including, without limitation, uploading documents you did not have authorization to upload); or (iv) your use of the Service.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these Terms — including any violation of the Acceptable Use policy — effective immediately and without prior notice. You may close your account at any time by emailing hello@yourstatementconverter.com.

Upon termination: (i) your access to the Service ends; (ii) your account data is retained on the schedule described in the Data Security & Privacy Policy; (iii) no refund is owed for the current billing period unless we terminated without cause; and (iv) any unused top-up balance is forfeited if termination is due to your material breach.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. No waiver of any term is effective unless in writing and signed by us.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email to active customers at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Minor changes (clarifications, typo fixes) will be reflected silently with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
